Today settings let you decide what Today shows, what the main calorie number means, and how the calendar rings are computed.

The seven options

Calendar Rings
Calendar rings are the progress rings in the week header on Today.
Fuel computes ring progress for each day as energy consumed divided by a baseline, then clamps at 100%.
Plan Target
Plan Target uses your stored daily calorie target. If no plan target exists, Fuel falls back to that day's TDEE.
TDEE
TDEE uses calories burned for that day, computed as basal energy plus active energy.
Calories consumed vs. remaining
This setting changes the main number on the calories card.
When it is on, the card shows calories eaten today. When it is off, the card shows calories left until you hit your target, and it flips to calories over after you pass the target.
Show Macro Rings
Macro Rings adds a dedicated macro card to Today.
It visualizes protein, fat, and carbs against your stored macro targets. Targets come from your plan overrides if you have customized macros.
Show Micronutrient Progress
Micronutrient Progress adds a micronutrient card to Today.
This toggle also controls whether Fuel queries Apple Health for micronutrient totals during refresh. Turn it off if you do not track micronutrients or you want Today to load with fewer HealthKit reads.

Show Water Progress
Water Progress adds a dedicated water card to Today.
Hydration still appears in the progress grid, but this card makes water its own surface with an explicit daily target.
Show Summary Details
Summary Details adds an Energy Details card to Today.
It surfaces the numbers used to compute your day summary, including dynamic and maintenance TDEE, target calories, basal and activity energy, macro totals, percent of target, and remaining amounts.
Show Log Workout Button
Log Workout Button adds a manual Log Workout action to Today.
It opens an in-app form for workout type, duration, and perceived effort. Fuel estimates calories, writes the workout to Apple Health when allowed, and refreshes Today so energy and streak context can update.
