Important information about using Fuel for nutrition, food logging, and AI coaching

Important Medical Disclaimer

Fuel focuses on nutrition education, meal logging, AI coaching, and food scanning. Fuel is not a medical or nutrition therapy service and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease. Always consult qualified healthcare professionals before making health or nutrition decisions.

Not a Medical Device or Healthcare Provider

Fuel and its services are not medical devices and do not provide medical advice or medical nutrition therapy (MNT). Our features are for education and self-tracking only.

Do not use the app to make decisions about medications, insulin dosing, or disease treatment. If you face an emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.

The information in the app does not replace care from a physician, registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN), or other licensed clinician.

Consult Healthcare Professionals

You should consult a qualified clinician or RDN before:

  • Starting or changing a diet, calorie targets, or macro goals
  • Using supplements or high-dose vitamins
  • Making changes if you are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Managing a condition such as diabetes, kidney or liver disease, gastrointestinal disorders, cardiovascular disease, or food allergies
  • If you have or suspect an eating disorder

Never disregard professional advice or delay seeking it because of information in the app. Using the app does not create a clinician-patient relationship.

Nutrition Data Accuracy and Limitations

Nutrition data and insights are estimates. They can be wrong or incomplete due to:

  • Label rounding, recipe changes, or regional variants
  • Restaurant and grocery entries that are crowd-sourced or estimated
  • Barcode matches that map to the wrong item
  • AI photo or text recognition that misclassifies foods or portions
  • Portion size, density, and cooked vs raw weights entered by the user
  • Homemade recipes and mixed dishes that require assumptions
  • Alcohol, edible yield, and cooking methods that change macros and calories

Totals and targets are guides, not clinical measurements.

Allergies and Intolerances

Do not rely on the app to detect or exclude allergens.

  • Always read the full ingredient label and confirm with the manufacturer or restaurant
  • Formulas change and cross-contact can occur
  • Photo or OCR detection of allergens is uncertain and may miss ingredients

Diabetes and Other Clinical Conditions

Do not use the app for insulin dosing, hypoglycemia treatment, or medical decisions. Carb counts and glycemic responses vary by product, portion size, preparation, and individual factors. Follow the plan from your care team.

Supplements and Interactions

We do not recommend or endorse supplements. Supplements and high-dose vitamins can interact with medications and affect labs. Talk to your clinician before starting or changing any supplement.

Food Safety

Follow safe food handling and cooking practices. The app does not verify cooking temperatures, food freshness, or pathogen risk. When in doubt, discard the item or seek professional advice.

Your Responsibility and Assumption of Risk

Diet changes carry real and significant risks, including adverse reactions, nutrient deficiencies, disordered eating behaviors, and changes in energy levels.

You are responsible for your choices and for seeking care when needed. Stop using the app and contact a clinician if you experience concerning symptoms.

Age and Eligibility Requirements

Our services are intended for individuals who are at least 18 years of age. If you are under 18, you may only use our services with parental consent and supervision.

Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should use the app only with clinician guidance.

Fuel does not provide medical nutrition therapy.

Policy Updates

We may revise this policy as laws evolve or features change. Material changes will be announced through our app, website, or via email.

Your continued use of the services after any changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.

Our services are not intended for emergency or life-threatening situations. If you believe you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately. Do not rely on the app for emergency assistance.
