Fuel launches Apple Watch-first AI nutrition coaching
Fuel is a performance nutrition app built around Apple Watch and HealthKit. Founded by Stephen M. Walker II, who spent years building a leading fitness app and went deep into the world of self-tracking, Fuel was created to solve a persistent problem: health tools that collect data but fail to turn it into decisions.
Fuel uses Apple Watch energy data, weigh-ins, and workout activity to set personalized calorie and macro targets that update based on real activity. Meals can be logged instantly through photo, text, or voice with AI that identifies foods, estimates portions, and calculates macros in seconds. Natural language corrections make adjustments fast when the AI gets something wrong.
Beyond logging, Fuel delivers adaptive coaching. A personalized daily recap reviews the previous day and sets intent with concrete nudges. Each week, Fuel turns seven days of meals, activity, and weigh-ins into a scorecard, three key opportunities, and a short action plan, so the next week starts with a clear read on what to repeat and what to adjust. A live Health Grade updates throughout the day as users move and log meals, and a goal timeline recalculates completion dates based on actual progress.
Fuel is designed with privacy at its core. The app has no user tracking and does not store personal data on external servers. All health information stays on device, and data ownership belongs entirely to the user.
Since launch, Fuel has earned a 4.9 App Store rating worldwide and was featured as Apple App of the Day. The app is available for free with a Pro tier that unlocks analytics, AI features, full workout history, and enhanced insights.
